PTO Meeting

* Introduction of Executive Board

* Principal's Report
* Discussion of the new building: the end product will be great, the journey
may be difficult. This specifically will effect arrival and dismissal and
parents will be needed for some creative problem solving.
* Newsletter:
* link on left side of the website to the newsletter and you can
keep informed there
* Each month, a newsletter will be sent the first week of the month
* Eblasts: each Wednesday of each week there will be an email
sent to highlight events, keep parents informed, etc.
* Look on website for documents that may be needed throughout
the year. This way there will be consistent access if needed.
* Back to School Assembly:
* Sept 6 at 2:30
* Patriot Day
* Sept 11th
* Children are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue
* Back to School Night
* Sept 11 at 6:30 pm
* Format will change.
* 6:30-6:50 Al will present to parents in
grades K-2 6:55-7:25 parents of these grade levels will
meet parents
* 7:05 Al will present to grades 3-5, then these parents go to
classrooms at 7:30

* Construction Project and the Impact on THIS school year:
* March 2013--first impact
* Relocation of the playground to the older playground
* Equipment will be scarce toward the end of the year
* Contractors will build a cattle-shoot for the children to have a
path to the playground
* Gated area will be there for access of trucks to necessary areas
* Summer 2013:
* New requirements about water runoff
* New beds will be built to reverse the pitch
* Parking lots will be dug up completely
Impact on community use
* Fire Drills
* Still negotiating
* Right now can use the fire house lot, School Lane, etc.

* School district has to lock into an amount that will set the
budget for the reno in stone with the state and we must
keep to that budget
* Right now--promise is $16.5 million and the plan is to keep it there
* What WES got, etc, NPE will get

MONDAY, SEPT 10TH TO SHOW SUPPORT FOR THE
PLANS FOR THE NEW NPE
* Currently, there are 22 classrooms slated to be built
* Car line next year may be gone. Call for help.

* District is getting the school 60 Ipads
* This year there will be $500.00 given to the grade levels and the
teachers can use the money at their discretion

* May Fair--no charge this year for the income section
* May Fair--expenses will be different from last year
* Mr B--$150.00 for Field day snacks
* SpringFest--is a line item because we pay for the students to
participate

* Emergency Fund/Staff: $400.00 added

Last year's actual was just over $19,000.00.

* Descriptions of walk: 45 minutes during a school day to connect the school to personal choices, healthy lifestyles, etc.
There is water and healthy snacks provided. Our BMI is the
lowest of all elementary schools!

lids and they will be entered for the school.

* Discussion with the photographer for a school wide yearbook
* no one has stepped up to do a fifth grade yearbook, so if you have
pictures please save them and then we can use them later inthe
year
* The yearbook will have a section dedicated to the fifth grade
* Jess Hadley: Girl Scout Troop Leader has girls trying to earn the
babysitting badge and may be able to provide child care, lead by
adults during PTO meetings. An update will be provided.
