* Back To School Night
* feedback was good, night went well
* Homeroom Parents
* Meetings with parents and teachers
* Good system in place, moving forward we will iron out problems
and revise for next year
* Next week: Fire Prevention Week
* Beginning Strings Presentation

* Oct 22-26 is Red Ribbon Week
* Guidance Counselor will run school wide events and some
school wide activities will be going on (anti-drug)
* Oct 31--Halloween Parade
* Full HS band is not going to be here...middle school drum line will
lead the procession
* Letter about appropriate costumes will come home
* 9:30 am
* Walkathon: success!
* Building Update:
* Meeting this past Monday--township co will vote on plans soon
* District Perspective: next few weeks a meeting with the
Reynolds construction Co--concerns for the Summer 2013
construction plans--8 week process
* Car Line Concerns: temporary staff lot for faculty and perhaps
a shorter version of the car line will exist
* Nov/Dec PTO meetings will be informative about the questions
moving forward.
* Thanks from Mr. Heinle for a smooth Sept. and from the staff for
the funds given from the PTO for each grade level
* Concern from Parent: the day of the bad storm, students were home
early. The honeywell system will take care of this.
* Faculty Report:
* Leslie Wagner
* K: students doing well with routine, are doing sorting and measur-
ing in Math, will start writing in Oct.
* Keihner: lessons begin next week
* Hendershot: 5th graders harvested veg. from garden
they also grew cotton--pix on website soon
* 1-2nd grade: will visit firehouse this month
* 3rd grade: will go to Lankenau, Oct 23 & Oct 25, RTI

* 4th: passports to places around delco
* 5th: writing narratives and stories, math groups are forming,
pumpkin design for fall ball is approaching.

* mission--support the quality of education by pulling from all over the
community
* raise $ for innovative ideas through school district and improve
programs for the district, and looking forward to help with any
cuts that may happen throughout the district
* Fundraising events, community donations, corporate donations,
united way (donor code--49418)
* Teacher minigrant program in place now
* money is spread equally throughout the district
* last year--29 grants, 10,000
* NPE last year--4 WII consoles and games (1,200)
* 3 elementary schools got 5th grade robotics program
* 5th grade learning support received a study skills program
* This year the minigrants will be awarded in November
* Panther PJ Run and Pancake Breakfast
* 5K run, 1.2 mile walk
* Pancake breakfast in the caf
* Desperate need of more volunteers to help with the running of the
foundation--call Deb Sherman for more information or email
her or Chris Brennan.
* In need of PR, event planning, etc. experience
* Moving to Make a Difference (Christie Morris)

* cost was just under $200, the gain was a little over 2,300
* Concern for next year--if building construction impedes the walk
there may need to be a day/venue change
* Christie is stepping down and Carolyn Noce and Emily Jaregui
are taking over for next year.
* Mum Sale
* sold $1,800 and profit was $870
* School Directory
* proof due back in several days
* for future reference--get in touch with the middle school and high
school directory leaders and see how they run the sales, etc.
* Ads: $2,800 dollars sold
* Shouts: $310
* Gift Wrap:
* extended until Friday, 10/5
* So far profit is $1,800
* Fall Ball
* On October 19 at 7-9pm
* Family Night, charge is $3 for children
* crafts, raffles, pumpkins are decorated/votes by children,
refreshments
* Giant Rewards
* Enter your bonus card and school ID and NPE will receive a check
* Yearbook
* School wide yearbook
* about $10 a book approximately but could range to $12-13 dollars
* More discussion and decisions to come

* There will be child care next month
* 11-13 year old girl scouts with adult supervision available in November
